Journal Exercise: Remember When Your Belief Manifested
Journaling is an important tool to reinforce your beliefs and cleanse your mind of negative thoughts. It is a practice that empowers you to feel safe to ask yourself daily questions that will lead you to live life more consciously. I journal all the time because it is a great way to release any negativity clouding my mind, especially first thing in the morning.
Did you know that most of our negativity comes from recycled thoughts? They tend to be the same small group of thoughts we ruminate on over and over, filling our heads. By downloading these toxic thoughts to your journal, you can process them and not allow them to follow you throughout the day.
I understand that self-belief is easier for some people and harder for others. As a young child, I always believed in myself, but many people suffer from self-doubt. If you are struggling with self-belief, I encourage you to pinpoint a moment in your life when you believed in yourself and received a positive outcome because of it. Write about the experience in your journal with as much detail as you can remember. As you move forward, hold on to that memory as a reminder of your capability to make your dream outcome a reality.
Building up your confidence and belief in yourself is not an easy process. You will discover parts of yourself that you might not feel comfortable sharing with those closest to you. Think of your journal as a therapist. Your journal does not judge or talk back to you. The process can be calming, and it allows you to put things into perspective.
Your journal is an important step towards self-discovery. Through journaling, you can identify the kind of life you want to live. You can recognize your weaknesses and wake up the muscles of belief—the muscles you need to beat cancer—which have been dormant within you.
