What is CBD?
Is CBD something to be feared, or something to be part of the solution to our unhealthy, modern lifestyle?
Some of you have messaged me, interested in my thoughts around CBD. As most of you may have noticed, I use CBD in my food.
I realized most of us are highly misinformed about CBD so here is a simple definition of what this plant really is. Notice if you have fear around this topic based on facts, or “just because”...
What is CBD?
🌱 CBD is short for Cannabinoid.
🌱 It comes from the hemp plant.
🌱 Contains less than 0.3% THC, which means that CBD DOES NOT have any psychoactive effect. YOU WILL NOT GET HIGH FROM CBD. The more THC, the more it can produce a “high”. In this case, 0.3% is so minute, there is no way anyone can get high on it.
🌱 Our bodies recognize CBD because it reacts to our body’s endocannabinoid system. In fact, CBD promotes regulation of our biological processes, like our body’s cell growth and maintenance and metabolism.
🌱 Our bodies naturally have CBD receptors located in the brain, central nervous system, and found on cells throughout the immune system!
🌱 Basically, CBD promotes homeostasis in our bodies because most of us have endocannabinoid deficiencies.
🌱 This means that our bodies are not keeping up with cannabinoid production.
Food for thought my friends - is this natural plant really “bad” for us, or does our society make us believe it is bad for us?
